Annual General Meeting Report. 2007 Sunday 25th September 2007. 2.30pm, @ Tirhatuan Golf Club Clubrooms. The AGM was duly held and business attended to. The minutes of the previous AGM were read, along with the Presidents Report, Captains Report and the Treasurers Report for the year, followed by the election of the committee for 2007/ 2008. The elected committee for 2007/2008 is: President, B.Carr. Captain, L.Jaffe. Treasurer, T.Martin. Secretary, M.Moss. S.McPhee (Vice President), M.Devlin, R.Barrie, M.Tempest. At the close of the AGM the annual presentation of trophys to the winners of the years golf calender took place. Trophy Presentations 2007 (click here to view ) The Club Person of the Year Award was presented to Rupert Sullivan. 2007 / 2008 Social Committee. M. Devlin (Chairperson), T. Jones, M. Benham. It is the intention of the club to increase the social functions of the club. Please give your support to the social committee and feel free to discuss any ideas you have with them.
CHRISTMAS BBQ Saturday December 15th. An end of year Christmas BBQ will be held after golf on Saturday 15th December. All members are welcome as are their familys and guests. Please check the clubhouse notice boards for more details.
Volunteers Needed. November 22nd & 23rd to assist the organisers of the Victorian Amputee Golf Championships in making the tournament a success. We need ball spotters, bunker rakers and people to generally assist around the course. Anyone is welcome to attend and your help will be greatly appreciated.
Vale Mrs. Jock Hutchinson. Our thoughts and condolences are extended to Jock Hutchinson on the sad loss of his wife on Friday 12th October.
Vale Peter Garwood. Sadly, Peter lost his battle with cancer on Wenesday 31/10/2007. Peter was a life member of our club and for many years was our club secretary. A good friend to all and a tireless worker and supporter for our club, he will be sorely missed. Our thoughts to Peters wife Joan and Peters family. The funeral will be held on Monday 5/11/2007 at Bunnerong, Dandenong/ Frankston Road at 2.00 pm. A death notice as follows has been placed with the Herald Sun on behalf of all our members to be published on Friday 2/11/07. "The members of Tirhatuan Golf Club are saddened by the loss of Peter Garwood. Peter was an avid golfer, a life member of our club, a past secretary, and above all else, a friend to all and an all round good bloke, who lived his life as he played his golf, with endless enthusiasm and steadfast optimism, no matter what adversity he faced. He will be sorely missed. Our club extends our heartfelt condolences to Peters family. Vale Peter Garwood."
